An exhibition of collages and screenprints by world-renowned artist, David Mach HRSA RA, will be on view at the Royal Scottish Academy during the Edinburgh Festival. Mach has gained significant recognition for his assemblage-based public installation works and has recently moved into collage as the result of having thousands of magazine images left over from his installation works. Mach studied at Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art and Design, Dundee (1974-79), then at the Royal College of Art, London (1979-82). Mach was nominated for the Turner Prize in 1988 and took up the position of Professor of Sculpture at the Royal Academy of Arts in 2000. Mach is an Honorary Royal Scottish Academician.
