Lamps Across the River

Lamps Across the River is an exhibition of work by artists who have made their homes along the banks of the River Tay, celebrating the rich artistic community that flourishes along this iconic waterway.

This exhibition acts as a prologue to Delia Baillie: Memory Box, the first survey of the late artist’s work since her death in 2023. Delia lived and worked in Dundee, Tayside’s largest city, where she raised her family, produced work, and was a cherished member of Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art and Design’s faculty.

For Lamps Across the River, artists have been invited to exhibit work that they each feel makes personal reference to their lives and experiences of the Firth of Tay. Some celebrate the region’s stunning natural environment and its rugged coastline, while others explore more challenging themes of mental health and isolation.

Whatever their chosen subject, each artist has their own individual connection to this unique environment, as well as their own cherished memories of our friend and colleague, Delia Baillie RSA.
