James Castle RSA

The Royal Scottish Academy is pleased to present James Castle: First Light. James Castle is a Scottish sculptor living and working in Wiltshire. Looking to the natural world, Castle’s sculptures are often carved from limewood and then painted. He typically uses animals as a metaphor for the human condition, owing to 'the fact that we like to bestow these creatures with the same kind of emotions as our own'.
