Far Afield brings together artworks by Royal Scottish Academicians created on location and through travel. Including paintings, prints and studies developed in response to new landscapes and cultures, the exhibition celebrates the enduring relationship between travel and artistic practice.

The Academy has long supported artists to travel through a range of scholarships, awards and residencies, recognising the vital role this experience plays in creative development. Far Afield reflects this, showcasing works that capture the influence of place and the perspectives gained through venturing beyond the studio.
